National Honor Society
The National Honors Society is the front runner of organizations and societies that promote appropriate recognition for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
Character—Spiritual
The student of character takes criticism willingly, accepts recommendations graciously, demonstrates the highest standards of honesty and reliability, and shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others.
Scholarship—Intellectual
Mountain View Academy requires a minimum of 3.7 GPA for membership in the National Honors Society.
Leadership—Social
The student who exercises leadership is resourceful in proposing new solutions to problems, applying principles, and making suggestions.
Service—Physical
The student who serves is willing to uphold scholarship and maintain a loyal school attitude, participates in some outside activity (Church group, volunteer services, and family duties), and does committee and staff work uncomplainingly.
